Astro offering live sports, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, and HBO Go for RM99.99 sounds too good to be true. And… it is

Astro has announced that customers are able to pay just RM99.99 a month to get over 135 channels—including live sports, local Astro originals as well as access to Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, HBO GO, and TVBAnywhere+. However, there’s a catch that comes with the offer.

According to Astro, customers can get the Astro Premium 1, 2, and 3 or Platinum Pack at RM99.99 per month for six months. But what you might need to also take note of is that its tied to a 24-month contract.

While it might be great if the 24-month contract meant that it will cost customers RM99.99 a month for the entirety of two years, it isn’t the case at all. Like how they stated previously, the RM99.99 offer is only for six months. That cheaper price will only be reflected on a customer’s bill on the second month all the way to the seventh month. And this also means that customers will be charged full price for the first month.

Additionally, the promotion is valid for new Astro customers starting today. It is also available on a first come first served basis for limited slots only. The offer includes the free Ultra Box and activation—but there will be an early termination fee of RM1000 for the Ultra Box if you want to terminate your 24-month contract early.

However, there are extra perks if you do decide on going for this offer. New Platinum Pack customers will also get extra Sports Add-ons for 2 years—meaning they get to experience an “unlimited range of sports channels including WWE Network, RugbyPass, and Astro Cricket”. New customers can also start streaming on two TV screens simultaneously with 12 months of complimentary access to the Multiroom app.

According to Astro’s site, the original price is RM194.99 per month for its Platinum Pack, RM124.99 for the Premium Pack 1, RM149.99 for the Premium Pack 2, and RM159.99 for the Premium Pack 3. You can read more of the offer’s TNC here. After learning about what the terms and conditions are for the offer, are you still interested in getting the Pack?
