Besides launching the Realme 9, Realme Malaysia has also introduced the Realme Pad Mini, its compact tablet that’s priced under RM800. As an introductory offer, you can get the Realme Pad Mini for as low as RM599.
The Realme Pad Mini comes in 3 variants and here’s the official pricing in Malaysia:
During the first day sale on Shopee Malaysia on the 25th April 2022, the Realme Pad Mini with 32GB storage is going for RM599 for the WiFi model and RM699 for the LTE variant. Meanwhile, the higher 64GB storage configuration will be available at Realme stores nationwide on 25th April 2022. All variants are offered in two colours – Blue and Grey.
Like the name implies, the Realme Pad Mini is essentially a smaller and cheaper version of the Realme Pad that was launched in November last year. Upfront it gets an 8.7″ IPS display that pushes a modest 1340×800 pixels resolution. Powering the device is a 12nm Unisoc T616 which Realme claims to outperform the MediaTek Helio P22T chip which is running on the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.
The tablet can be configured with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage. If you need more storage, you can expand it further via a microSD card up to 1TB.
For taking pictures, the rear gets an 8MP main camera while the front has a 5MP camera for video calls. Despite being a budget tablet, it still gets stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The Realme Pad Mini gets a 6,400mAh battery that’s rated to last up to 12 hours of video streaming or 15 hours of Zoom meetings. It supports 18W quick charging and the power adapter is included in the box. Overall, it is 7.6mm thin and weighs 372g. Out of the box, it runs on Android 11 with Realme UI R Edition skin on top.
As a comparison, the larger 10.4″ Realme Pad is priced from RM899 for the WiFI 32GB storage model and it goes all the way up to RM1,199 for the LTE 128GB storage version. Since the Realme Pad Mini has a screen of less than 10.1″, it doesn’t qualify for the PerantiSiswa B40 tablet programme.
