Four months after rolling out Netflix for Astro Ultra Box users, users of the Ulti Box can start streaming Netflix on their set-top boxes starting from today. This provides the convenience of watching Astro TV channels and on-demand Netflix shows and movies on a single device while paying just one bill. The Ulti Box is Astro’s cheaper internet-connected set-top box that supports a maximum resolution of Full HD 1080p instead of 4K UHD.

According to Astro, Ulti Box customers can upgrade their current pack to any of their new packages with Entertainment Plus with Netflix to enjoy greater savings. Existing customers with the Entertainment Plus Pack or Netflix can access Netflix on the Ulti Box by going to the Home Screen and selecting the “Netflix” app in the app row, or switch to Channel 741. For new Netflix customers or Astro users without the Entertainment Plus pack, they can also sign up for Netflix by clicking the “Join Now” button in the Netflix app.

At the time of writing, Astro is only offering the Ulti Box to new subscribers who sign up for the base “Primary package” that costs RM59.99/month. If you go for Entertainment, Entertainment Plus or Platinum, Astro offers the 4K Ultra Box instead. The Entertainment Plus pack which comes with Netflix standard subscription and TVB Anywhere+ costs RM129.99/month, while the Platinum option which offers more channels as well as Disney+ Hotstar and HBO Go costs RM194.99/month.

If you have access to fibre broadband connectivity at home, Astro is offering the Plug & Play option which allows you to enjoy Astro immediately without the need of installing a satellite dish. Take note that Astro requires a minimum connection of 30Mbps for 4K streaming. Existing Ultra Box users with a satellite dish can also enjoy uninterrupted viewing during bad weather as Astro has rolled out an option to switch to IP for live TV channels. For more info, you can visit Astro’s website.
