Digi offers 3 lines with unlimited data for RM200/month, add 300Mbps fibre broadband for RM100/month

Digi has introduced its new Family Unlimited Bundle where you can get multiple mobile postpaid lines plus home fibre broadband for one fixed monthly price. This is essentially Digi’s answer to Maxis’ Family Plan that was launched last year.

By default, Digi’s Family Unlimited Bundle offers 3 postpaid lines with unlimited data and calls for only RM200/month. For an additional RM100/month, you can get a 300Mbps Digi fibre broadband which is a savings of RM50/month. For a family of three, that’s a total of RM300 per month for unlimited mobile internet on the go and unlimited 300Mbps broadband for the home.

For larger families, you can add up to 4 additional lines at RM45/month each. For the fibre broadband bundle, you can choose between 50Mbps to 1Gbps. The cheapest option is the 50Mbps fibre plan which costs RM75/month while the 100Mbps option costs RM100/month. With the ongoing promotions, the 300Mbps fibre plan also costs RM100/month, which makes it the recommended option.

If your household needs faster speeds, the 500Mbps fibre option costs RM140/month and the 800Mbps plan costs RM220/month with the bundle. Meanwhile, the highest 1Gbps costs RM240/month.

However, do note that the unlimited data on the postpaid plan does come with a catch. According to their FAQ, you’ll get unlimited high-speed data which is non-shareable and it only comes with 1GB of hotspot data each month. If you need to use hotspot extensively, you can purchase 5GB hotspot quota for RM5 and it’s valid for 30 days.

The plan’s unlimited internet usage is also tied to a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) of 999GB per month which is more than enough for most users. Once you’ve hit your FUP limit, your mobile connection will be throttled to 2G speeds until the next billing cycle. The T&C also states that all peer to peer downloads is capped at 64kbps.

Do note that the discounted add-on fibre broadband pricing is only valid during the 24-month contract period. For the family postpaid plans, customers who opt for a 12-month contract can choose to enjoy free Roam like Home (international roaming) for 12 months or get RM10 monthly rebates for Spotify Premium or free YouTube premium for 12 months.

As a comparison, Maxis’ Family Plan which starts at RM299/month comes with four postpaid lines that offer unlimited calls, SMS and data, but the default broadband bundle is a slower 30Mbps fibre broadband option. However, Maxis allows you to upgrade to 300Mbps for RM60/month, which in total costs RM359/month. With the same configuration including 4 lines and 300Mbps fibre, Digi’s Family bundle will cost you RM345/month which is slightly cheaper.

At the moment, the Digi Family Unlimited Bundle is only available at physical Digi Stores. For more info, you can visit their Postpaid Family product page.
