Apple Malaysia is currently having a promo where they are offering free AirPods for students and college staff who purchase a new Mac or iPad device. The free AirPods offer is running from 6th January until 7th March 2022.

The promo is only available on the Apple Online Store for Education and it is offered to teachers, staff, students, and parents of children, currently attending or accepted into a public or private tertiary education institution in Malaysia. You can check if you’re eligible here.

With the offer, you can buy an eligible Mac or iPad along with a pair of AirPods to enjoy a savings of RM589, which is the current retail price of the 2nd gen AirPods. From the T&C, you are able to get the latest 3rd gen AirPods or the AirPods Pro but you’ll have to pay the extra price difference (e.g. RM240 for 3rd gen AirPods and RM510 for AirPods Pro). As a reference, the 3rd gen AirPods cost RM829 while the AirPods Pro is going for RM1,099.

According to the eligibility list, the promo is applicable if you buy an iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. However, for the iPad, the free AirPods offer is only applicable when you buy the more expensive iPad Pro and iPad Air. The base model 9th gen iPad and iPad mini are excluded.

In case you didn’t know, Apple has student pricing where you can enjoy a lower pricing compared to the standard retail price. For example, the latest MacBook Pro 14 starts from RM8,199 for students, which is a savings of RM600. If you go for the highest-spec MacBook Pro 16 with 64GB memory and 8TB SSD, you can save RM2,240 on student pricing.

In addition, Apple Malaysia is also offering 20% off for AppleCare Protection Plan which provides extra peace of mind for your new Mac and iPad purchase. For more info, you can check out Apple’s Education section.
