Several states have been hit hard by floods due to continuous rain since Friday morning. If you’ve booked movie tickets for the weekend but can’t make it due to the current flood situation, cinema operators GSC and TGV are now allowing customers to request a refund.

GSC Ticket refund flooding

GSC has posted on Facebook that customers affected by flash floods in several states are eligible for a ticket refund. To do so, just drop them an email with your screening and ticket details to cs [@] gsc.com.my. The refund process may take up to 14 working days.

GSC has also clarified that their cinemas are fully operational and the refund request is only for those who are affected by floods.

[ UPDATE 19/12/2021 09:00 ]: GSC has updated that its Setia City Mall and Klang Parade cinemas will be closed today for the safety of their customers and staff.

TGV Ticket refund flooding

TGV Cinemas are also offering refunds to customers affected by the floods. TGV customers can drop their request by email to [email protected] and the refund process may take up to 14 days.

The refund offer is a good initiative by cinema operators as residents in Melaka, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Pahang and Terengganu were badly affected. Several families in low-lying areas were forced to evacuate while others had to spend the night in their vehicles as roads heading to their homes were flooded.

The Meteorological Department has warned that heavy rain will continue in most parts of Peninsular Malaysia until 19th December 2021.
