Honor MagicBook 14 with Ryzen 5000 CPU coming soon to Malaysia, priced under RM3,000

Honor Malaysia has announced its updated MagicBook 14 laptops that are powered by Ryzen 5000 series processors. The new AMD-powered laptops will go on sale next month and Honor Malaysia is providing extra freebies as well.

Below is the official pricing of the Honor MagicBook 14 with AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU in Malaysia:

• 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD – RM2,699
• 8GB RAM + 512GB SSD – RM2,999

The updated MagicBook 14 comes only in Space Grey. It will go on sale starting 1st October on the Honor Store, Lazada, Shopee, Senheng, and Honor authorised stores throughout Malaysia. Buyers will get an Honor Backpack and if you get the 512GB model, you will also receive an additional wireless mouse.

Honor MagicBook 14 Specs

Design-wise, the new MagicBook 14 looks identical to the previous version that runs on a Ryzen 5 3500U chip. The updated model runs on a 7nm AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with AMD Radeon Graphics. It comes with 8GB of DDR4 3200 RAM and with a choice of 256GB or 512GB SSD.

The MagicBook 14 features a 14″ Full HD IPS display which offers 100% sRGB colour gamut and a maximum brightness of 300nits. It retains a 1MP pop-up webcam that’s hidden on the top row keys of the keyboard and the power button also comes with an integrated fingerprint sensor for instant unlocking.

In terms of ports, it still has one USB-C port which is also used for charging, two full-sized USB-A ports (USB 3.2 Gen 1, USB 2.0), an HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Powering the laptop is a 56Wh battery which Honor claims can provide up to 11 hours of video playback on a single charge. Also included is a 65W USB-C charger which can charge from 0-65% in an hour.

In terms of connectivity, it supports Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 6 with 2×2 MIMO dual-antenna and Magic Link multi-screen collaboration if you have a compatible Honor smartphone. Overall, the MagicBook 14 weighs 1.38kg and has a thickness of 15.9mm.

Honor MagicBook 15 is coming soon

If you’re looking for a bigger screen laptop, the MagicBook 15 is also listed as coming soon. According to the listing, the Honor MagicBook 15 with Ryzen 5 5500U will only come with a single 8GB RAM + 256GB SSD option. It will be available for pre-order on 5th October 2021 and Honor Malaysia has hinted that there will be an early bird price.
