Realme Malaysia will be having the Mag for Future event on their Facebook page on August 3, where they’ll be launching the Realme GT Master Edition and the Realme MagDart, the first Android magnetic wireless charger.

First, the smartphone in question. Co-designed by Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa, the Realme GT Master Edition features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G system-on-chip, mated to 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. It has a 6.43-inch FHD, Super AMOLED display capable of 120Hz with 1000nits peak brightness. There’s also a triple camera setup on the rear with a 64MP main sensor flanked by an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. The selfie camera meanwhile is a 32MP sensor.

Keeping the lights on is a 4,300mAh battery with 65W fast charge. Other features of note include an under display fingerprint sensor, WiFi 6 support and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity. You’ll be able to find it in suitcase gray, white and aurora colourways,. While we’ll only know the Malaysian price at the launch event, we do know that the 128GB model goes for RMB2,399 (~RM1,567.26) in China, with the 256GB costing RMB2,599 (~RM1,697.92).

Then there’s also the Realme MagDart. Perhaps a reply to Apple’s MagSafe system, the Realme MagDart is believed to be able to push a higher power output compared to Apple’s 15W maximum. To compensate for the higher power and thus higher heat produced, the MagDart features a built-in fan which does make it a less elegant solution than that from Cupertino. Realme is expected to also have a slimmer, fanless MagDart charger that tops out at 15W too.

For more information on the Realme GT Master Edition and the MagDart magnetic wireless charger, you can catch the Mag for Future event yourself. It’ll be held at 8pm on the 3rd of August, and will happen on Realme Malaysia’s Facebook page.
