COVID-19: New cases jump to 12,366 today, total active cases now over 133,000

Malaysia has recorded 12,366 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 939,899. There are 93 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 7,241. In July so far there are 2,071 deaths which is an average of 103.5 deaths per day.

The Ministry of Health has reported 7,567 new recoveries and a total of 798,955 patients have recovered and been discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 85.00% while the mortality rate is now 0.77%.

There are currently 133,703 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 924 are in ICU while 448 require respiratory support.

Out of the 12,366 new cases today, 8 are imported while 12,358 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 5,524 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,580 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 970 cases, and Johor with 793 cases.
