BMW 330Li M Sport: Malaysia’s first locally-assembled long-wheelbase 3 series is here, priced from RM277K

BMW Malaysia finally confirmed the pricing for the BMW 330Li M Sport, their first-ever long-wheelbase sedan variant for the Malaysian market. It was officially unveiled on the 9th of April this year and is now available in all authorised BMW dealerships in the country for RM277,164.22.

“We are pleased to commence booking for the latest addition to our portfolio of locally-assembled premium vehicles in Malaysia: the First-Ever BMW 330Li M Sport. Following our successful performance in the first half of 2021 globally, we believe the first-ever locally-assembled long-wheelbase BMW 3 Series model will continue to bring joy to our customers in Malaysia as it opens up an avenue for BMW customers and enthusiasts to experience Sportiness in New Dimensions.”

– Hans de Visser, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia

This is the first time a BMW 3 series with a long-wheelbase will be locally assembled here in Malaysia. The elongated body of the 330Li M Sport will provide better space and comfort, as extended wheelbases normally ride better due to the distance between the front and back wheels.

While not being as agile, long wheelbase variants tend to provide greater stability while turning corners, leading to a safer feeling drive.

BMW 330Li M Sport’s exterior

The 330Li M Sport has that classic sporty BMW design, with chrome-framed black struts and adaptive LED headlights that adjust to varying road conditions.

The sides have an increased length of 4,819mm (+110mm increase) and an increased wheelbase length of 2,961mm (+110mm increase) compared to the current BMW 330i M Sport. It’s also 6mm taller, with a 1,441mm total height. Its silhouette is almost coupé like with the contour of the roofline having a distinct design.

Its exterior also features 11″ M light-alloy wheels in Double-Spoke style 848 M bicolour, with two exhaust tailpipes with a trapezoidal design compared to the regular ovular shape. On top, the 330Li M Sport has a panorama glass room, and the bottom is lined with welcome light carpet, which guides the driver to the car doors.

Engine and interior

The core of the BMW 330Li M Sport houses a four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo petrol engine. It’s capable of a maximum output of 258 hp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm, with a peak torque of 400 Nm at 1,550 – 4,400 rpm.

With a Steptronic “manumatic” sport transmission, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. It consumes 6.4 litres per 100 km and has a carbon emission rate of 147 g/km. As a comparison, the short-wheelbase 330i M Sport has a quicker 0-100 time of 5.8 seconds while maintaining the same fuel economy figure of 6.4 litres per litre. The 330Li still retains the same fuel tank capacity of 59 litres.

The 330Li M Sport’s interior sports Aluminium Tetragon trim finishers with Pearl Chrome highlight trim finishers in the cabin. The extended wheelbase gives an additional 42mm legroom for the rear passengers, while the boot space can contain 480 litres and possess a storage compartment package for easy stowage.

Its steering wheel is wrapped with black leather, accompanying the velour floor mats and the shade of the seats. The infotainment system comes in the form of the latest BMW Live Cockpit Professional system, with a 12.3-inch instrument display, and a 10.25″ touch display.

Of course, the 330Li M Sport comes with the standard BMW assistance features such as Cruise Control, Parking Assistant, and a driving system to help with pedestrians and standard collisions.

With BMW 330Li M Sport comes in two colours — Mineral White and Carbon Black.

Because of the MCO, dealerships will be closed for physical viewing for now, but you can see the BWM 330Li M Sport online and get more details on their website.

With the current sales & services tax exemption, the BMW 330Li M Sport is priced at RM277,164.22. You can own it with a monthly instalment plan from RM3,078/month based on an 80% loan on a 5-year tenure with BMW’s Balloon Financing Plan. If you opt for the 5-year extended warranty & service package, it will cost you RM290,284.22.

As a comparison, the BMW 330i M Sport with a shorter wheelbase is currently going for RM271,212.02 or RM284,332.02 with the extended warranty and service package.
