Amidst concerns that we won’t be getting a Samsung Galaxy Note 21 this year, a new report has surfaced with claims about next year’s possible release of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
If the rumours turn out to be true, then the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will yield a 5-lens 200MP Olympus camera, despite a previous report claiming it was to use a 108MP ISOCELL camera.
This would mean that Samsung is going to have a major upper hand over its competition, as there are no other smartphones in the market that currently offer main cameras with that much megapixels.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra will supposedly feature a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel, and is said to come with S-Pen stylus support, though it is not clear if it will be bundled in the package.
In March, Samsung’s in-house chipset maker Exynos had posted a video on Twitter, which contained the words “200MP” and “six-camera”.
However, Exynos clarified that it was not a teaser as it was referring to the Exynos 2100 (which powers the Galaxy S21 lineup in most countries) that already supports up to 200MP resolution and six cameras, aligning with the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s supposed 5-lens Olympus camera claim.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra is also allegedly seeing a January 2022 release, a year after its Samsung Galaxy S21 predecessor was released.
