COVID-19: 102 deaths and 8,574 new cases today, Selangor still records over 4,000 cases

Malaysia has recorded 8,574 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 844,870. There are 102 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 6,260.

The Ministry of Health has reported 5,041 new recoveries and a total of 747,338 patients have recovered and been discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 88.46% while the mortality rate is at 0.74%.

There are currently 91,272 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 964 are in ICU while 452 require respiratory support.

Out of the 8,574 new cases today, 40 are imported while 8,534 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 4,308 cases, followed by Negeri Sembilan with 794 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 609 cases and Kedah with 415 cases.
