Samsung is expected to release two new foldable smartphones in the coming months which include the Galaxy Z Flip 3, the successor of the current Z Flip phone. After sharing a promo image of the device, serial leakster Evan Blass is back with 360-degree visual of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3.
As seen earlier, the new Z Flip will feature a dual-tone design on the top cover. The striking black panel will house a larger secondary display while the dual-camera setup is now aligned vertically. The flip phone will be offered in 4 colours which include black, gold, purple and dark grey.
In terms of design, it looks much sleeker than the current phone and the dual-tone look does make it standout a lot more. It still gets a single USB-C port at the bottom while the right side of the top cover still feature a volume rocker and a power button which doubles as a fingerprint sensor.
When the device is closed, there’s still a thigh gap but it appears to be much smaller than before. We expect Samsung to continue with its flexible hinge design that enables you to keep the Z Flip 3 open at any angle for greater versatility. It is also speculated that Samsung may add some form of dust and water resistance which will help address durability concerns when it comes to foldable devices.
In terms of specs, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is expected to run on a Snapdragon 888 processor with 5G and there’s a possibility that the internal flexible display may push a higher 120Hz refresh rate. For a more immersive viewing experience, Samsung could be introducing an under-display selfie camera that will hide the “punch-hole” when the front camera is not in use.
At the moment, Samsung has yet to announce the launch of the new Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3. Since it is unlikely there will be a new Galaxy Note series this year, we reckon that the next Galaxy Unpacked event for the new Fold devices could take place around August or September, just before Apple announces its iPhone 13 series.
