OnePlus Nord CE 5G now official in Malaysia, priced from RM1,399

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is now official in Malaysia and it’s the company’s new mid-range smartphone with 5G. The Nord CE is significantly cheaper than last year’s OnePlus Nord and you can pre-order starting next week

Pricing and availability

Here’s the official OnePlus Nord CE 5G Malaysian pricing:

  • 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,399
  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM1,799

The device is available in two colour options – Blue Void and Charcoal Ink. As a pre-order offer, the 256GB model is going for RM1,599 which is RM200 off.

Pre-order for both 128GB and 256GB models are available from Monday, 21st June 2021 exclusively on the official OnePlus store on Shopee. OnePlus is giving RM30 voucher for the first 150 customers of the base 128GB model and RM50 vouchers for the first 100 customers for the higher-spec 256GB option.

The devices will be available officially on Saturday, the 26th of June on both authorised online and offline outlets. Do note that authorised OnePlus stores will only carry the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model.

Hardware Specs

To recap, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G features a 6.43″ Full HD+ 90Hz AMOLED display and it runs on a 8nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chip that has 5G support. The device can be configured with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

For taking pictures, it gets a triple-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP mono lens for depth effects. The tiny punch-hole on the screen houses a 16MP selfie camera.

The device comes with a larger 4,500mAh battery and it supports OnePlus’ WarpCharge 30T Plus fast charging via USB-C. You can get a 70% charge in just 30 minutes. Despite having a larger capacity battery, the OnePlus Nord CE is thinner at 7.9mm (OnePlus Nord: 8.2mm) and it still comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Out of the box, it runs on OxygenOS 11 which is based on Android 11. According to OnePlus, the device will receive two years of software updates and three years of security updates.
