COVID-19: 6,239 new cases and 75 deaths today, 2,291 new cases reported in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 6,239 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 633,891. There are 75 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 3,611. 618 deaths have been recorded in the past 7 days which is an average of 88.28 deaths per day.

The Ministry of Health has reported 7,386 new recoveries and a total of 548,705 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 86.56% while the mortality rate is now 0.57%.

There are currently 81,575 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 905 are in ICU while 453 require respiratory support.

Out of the 6,239 new cases today, 11 are imported while 6,228 are transmitted locally. Selangor continues to record the most with 2,291 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 704 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 507 cases and Johor with 468 cases.
