The OnePlus 9 Malaysia launch is happening at 12.00pm on Monday, 17th May 2021. It looks like there could be a potential livestream on their official Facebook page. From the teaser image, it appears that both OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models will be available.

To recap, both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are powered by a Snapdragon 888 processor that comes with 5G support. The standard model gets a 6.55″ Full HD+ display while the Pro version gets a larger 6.7″ Quad HD+ screen. Both models use AMOLED screens with 120Hz refresh rate.

In terms of cameras, the OnePlus 9 gets a triple-camera setup with a 48MP main shooter, 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 9 Pro features a quad-camera setup that includes an additional 8MP telephoto camera. Both models also feature a 16MP front punch-hole camera.

The OnePlus 9 series gets a large 4,500mAh battery which supports 65W fast charging via USB-C. It is also worth pointing out that the flagship series also supports wireless charging but it isn’t offered in all markets.

For those who can’t wait, you can already find grey-import versions of the OnePlus 9 in Malaysia which is priced from RM2,988 for the base model. However, if you’re looking for an official Malaysian set with a local warranty, stay tuned for the announcement next week.
