COVID-19: 3,733 new cases and 26 deaths today, active cases jump to 37,060 with 416 in ICU

Malaysia has recorded 3,733 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 440,677. There are 26 new deaths reported which is a new record high in a day since the start of the pandemic. The death toll is now 1,683.

The Ministry of Health has reported 3,211 new recoveries and a total of 401,934 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 91.21% while the mortality rate remains at 0.38%.

There are currently 37,060 active cases remaining that are receiving treatment. 416 are in ICU while 216 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,733 new cases today, 6 are imported while 3,727 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most today with 1,278 cases, followed by Sarawak with 454 cases, Johor with 365 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 338 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new COVID-19 clusters today and majority of them are workplace and community related. Below is the list of newly identified clusters:
