Vivo has been rather active recently, with the Vivo X60 and X60 Pro clearly aimed at mobile photographers out there. In fact, the company even released an original short film that was shot entirely on the X60 Pro—something that we’ve seen other smartphone-makers do in the past.
A big part of the photographic capabilities of the X60 series, of course, is the new partnership with camera specialists, Zeiss. This is the first time that we’re seeing Zeiss lenses on Vivo smartphones, and to better illustrate what the collaboration means, the company enlisted the help of local TV personality, Gan Jiang Han.
Have a watch here:
During the two-minute clip, Gan explains the importance of a high definition camera in 2021—to deliver “meaningful” photos. He also mentions the increased demand for premium mobile cameras in today’s world, while referencing how Zeiss’ lensese were used when man took the first step on the moon. Oh, and Lord of The Rings, too.
According to Mike Xu, Vivo’s CEO:
“Vivo’s ethos has always been about delivering the joy of humanity with professional images and it is especially vital during these times to enable users to capture memories and moments in outstanding clarity. ZEISS is the leading industry expert in optics and opto-electronics and vivo has partnered them to develop a vivo ZEISS co-engineered imaging system which sports the ZEISS-branded quad-camera setup that delivers moving images and allows one to capture joy even in the most trying of times.”
To recap, the Vivo X60 series features a number of impressive camera features (besides the Zeiss lenses, of course). These include Gimbal Stabilisation 2.0, which combines enhanced OIS and EIS, while there is also Extreme Night Vision 2.0 for low-light photography. The X60 Pro features a 48MP main shooter, along with a 13MP portrait lens (2X optical zoom) and a 13MP ultra-wide camera. Up top, you’re looking at a 32MP selfie camera.
Pricing in Malaysia is as follows:
Vivo X60 5G – 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM2,699
Vivo X60 Pro 5G – 12GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM3,299
