Samsung Malaysia has introduced Samsung Care+, a comprehensive protection plan which provides greater peace of mind for Galaxy phone and tablet owners. This appears to be Samsung’s version of AppleCare. Depending on the Galaxy model, you can get additional protection from as little as RM55 and it covers device repair or replacement as well as free pickup and delivery service.
Samsung Care+ is available at selected Samsung Experience Stores and you can activate it within 14 days of purchase of the device. You can go for either 1-year or 2-year option and both come with accidental damage and liquid damage (ADLD) coverage.
For flagship models like the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20 or Galaxy Tab S7+, it will cost you RM330 for 1 year and RM630 for 2 years. Meanwhile, for lower range models like the Galaxy A01, it will cost RM55 for 1-year and RM105 for 2-years.
Do note there’s a service fee which needs to be paid for each service. For flagship models, it costs RM249 while other devices costs RM129.
If the repair costs more than 85% of the recommended retail price (RRP) or is classified as Beyond Economic Repair (BER), Samsung will replace the device with a new or refurbished unit. According to the T&C, once you’ve exhausted the Maximum Repair Value under the contract, Samsung will charge additional repair costs at applicable market rates.
To request for service under Samsung Care+, you can visit https://my.careplus.co or call 03-90784999. For greater convenience, the plan comes with free pick up and delivery service. For more info, you can check out the Samsung Care+ website or read the full T&C here.
