COVID-19: 2,468 new cases and 14 deaths today, total active cases drop to 30,475

Malaysia has recorded 2,468 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 288,229. There are 14 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 1,076.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4,055 new recoveries and a total of 256,678 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 89.05% while the mortality rate is now 0.37%.

There are currently 30,475 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 196 are in ICU while 92 require respiratory support.

Out of the 2,468 new cases today, 4 are imported while 2,464 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 932 new cases, followed by Johor with 428 cases, Perak with 308 cases, while both Kuala Lumpur and Perak recording 155 new cases each.

The Ministry of Health has identified 13 new clusters today and 11 are workplace related. Below is the list of new clusters identified today:

A total of 90 clusters have recorded new cases today. The newly identified Digital Lapan construction site cluster has reported the most with 131 new cases, followed by Tembok Bendera cluster with 107 cases and Jalan Pelabuhan cluster with 95 new cases.
