COVID-19: 3,288 new cases and 14 deaths today, 1,757 cases reported in Selangor

Malaysia has recorded 3,288 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 251,604. There are 14 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 923.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,929 new recoveries and a total of 198,495 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 78.9% while the mortality rate is at 0.4%.

There are currently 52,186 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 285 are in ICU while 131 require respiratory support.

Out of the 3,288 new cases today, 5 are imported while 3,283 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 1,757 new cases followed by Kuala Lumpur with 408 cases and Johor with 369 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 11 new clusters today and 7 are workplace related. Below is the list of the new clusters:

A total of 82 active clusters have reported new cases today. The Tanjung Suria cluster reported the most with 356 cases, followed by Persiaran Perkilangan cluster with 319 cases and Jalan Cochrane cluster with 104 cases.
