Asus revealed its Tuf Dash F15 (FX516) gaming laptop during this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. The Taiwanese laptop maker refreshed its Tuf line of gaming laptops with a new look and brings premium components into a thin and lightweight design.

The new Tuf laptop now sports a more modern design with a slim chassis that measures just 19.9mm thin and weighs 2kg. In terms of colour choices, it comes in either black or white.

True to its name, the new Dash F15 offers a MIL-STD-810H certified rugged build quality. Asus said the laptop has been subjected to rigorous tests that include drops, vibrations as well as extreme temperatures to ensure its durability and reliability.

Despite having a chassis that is smaller and lighter, the Dash F15 houses a 76Whr battery that Asus claims lasts up to 12 hours of web browsing and up to 16 hours of 1080p video playback.

In Malaysia, the Dash F15 will come with an Intel Core i7-11375H CPU paired with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB NVME PCIE SSD. As for graphics, you get an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 GPU with Max-Q Design that comes with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM.

It sports a 15.6” Full HD IPS panel with an 81% screen-to-body ratio. The display offers a 240Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. It also comes with Adaptive Sync which allows the display’s refresh rate to synchronise with the GPU. This is said to minimise stuttering and visual tearing when gaming.

The Dash F15 comes with a host of I/O ports to connect all your devices. Asus said it comes with three Type-A USB 3.2 ports along with an audio combo jack, RJ45 LAN port, AC adapter plug and an HDMI 2.0b.

It also has a USB-C port that supports Thunderbolt 4, allowing you the versatility to connect to a number of different devices. This includes connecting it to an external GPU to amp up your graphics power for Ultra HD gaming. It also supports DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to connect two 4K displays at 60Hz or one 8K UHD display.

Adding to that, the USB-C port can also be used to fast charge the laptop. Asus claims it can top the battery back to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Apart from that, the new Dash F15 comes with other features that include WiFi 6 and Bluetooth connectivity. It runs on Windows 10 Home edition.

Asus said its new Tuf Dash F15 will be available in Malaysia by the end of January for RM6,999. For more information go to Asus’ product page.

Currently, Asus is only offering this one configuration which is the top spec model. The company said it plans to bring in the cheaper variants of the device by Q2 2021.
