COVID-19: 1,371 new cases today, Selangor records the most with 532 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,371 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 84,846. There are 4 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 419.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,204 new recoveries and a total of 70,597 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.2% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.

There are currently 13,830 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 114 are in ICU while 62 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,371 new cases today, there’s one imported case while 1,370 are transmitted locally. Selangor recorded the most with 532 new cases, followed by Sabah with 283 cases, Negeri Sembilan with 260 cases and Kuala Lumpur with 124 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified 2 new clusters. This include Solar Ria cluster which covers Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and Senu Setia cluster in Kuala Lumpur.

A total of 46 clusters have recorded new COVID-19 cases today. The Ceram cluster in Negeri Sembilan has recorded the most with 220 new cases, followed by Muda construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur with 143 cases and Teratai cluster in Selangor with 81 new cases.
