COVID-19: 1,472 new cases today, Selangor reported the most with 891 cases

Malaysia has recorded 1,472 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 67,169. There are 3 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 363.

The Ministry of Health has reported 1,552 new recoveries and a total of 56,311 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 83.9% while the mortality rate is now 0.5%.

There are currently 10,495 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 120 are in ICU while 44 require respiratory support.

Out of the 1,472 new COVID-19 cases reported today, 5 are imported while 1,467 are transmitted locally. Selangor records the most today with 891 new cases, followed by Sabah with 267 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 146 cases.

The Ministry of Health has identified two new clusters in Sabah today. This include the View Kolombong cluster in Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran as well as the Talang-talang cluster in Kota Kinabalu.

A total of 33 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The Teratai cluster which is linked to Top Glove recorded the most with 778 new cases, followed by the Hentian cluster with 118 cases and Batu Tujuh cluster with 37 cases.
