Malaysia has recorded 1,168 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 39,357. There are 3 new deaths reported in Sabah and the death toll is now 282.
The Ministry of Health has reported 1,029 new recoveries which is the highest recorded in a single day. A total of 27,409 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 69.6% while the mortality rate is at 0.7%.
There are currently 11,666 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 87 are in ICU while 32 require respiratory support.
All 1,168 new cases today are transmitted locally. Sabah records the most with 616 cases, followed by Selangor with 247 cases, Labuan with 104 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 68 cases.
There are 4 new clusters identified today. This includes Softwood LD cluster in Sabah, Teratai cluster in Selangor, Damanlela construction site cluster in Kuala Lumpur and Mahkota cluster which covers Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Sarawak.
A total of 41 active clusters have recorded new cases today. The PTS Tawau cluster in Sabah recorded the most with 121 new cases, followed by Sandakan prison cluster with 91 cases and Rengas cluster with 35 cases.
Malaysia has recorded over 1,000 daily COVID-19 cases for 5 straight days. Yesterday, MOH has reported a new record high of 1,755 cases in a single day. As announced by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, a 4-week CMCO will be implemented in all states in West Malaysia except Perlis, Pahang and Kelantan from 9th November.
