Deal: iPhone XR 64GB now going for RM2,199

If you’re looking a brand new iPhone on a budget, here’s a new deal for the iPhone XR. The 2018 device has recently received another price cut of RM500 and now you enjoy another RM200 off at selected retailers.

Authorised Apple retailers Machines and Switch, are now offering the iPhone XR 64GB for RM2,199 instead of its current listed price of RM2,399 and it’s only available in Black. However, it appears that the device is from a new batch as it doesn’t contain the charger and EarBuds as part of Apple’s sustainability efforts. As a result, you’ll get a smaller box and it only contains the iPhone XR and a USB-C to lightning cable.

If you need a charger, the original Apple 20W USB-C charger is priced at RM99. Alternatively, you can buy other cheaper USB-PD chargers from reputable brands.

To recap, the XR comes with a 6.1″ Liquid Retina HD (1792×828) IPS display and it runs on an Apple A12 Bionic chip. The device features a 7MP TrueDepth front camera that supports portrait mode and Face ID, while the back gets a single 12MP main camera that can shoot 4K videos up to 60fps.

Powering the device is a 2,942mAh battery and it supports fast wired charging. With an 18W USB-PD charger, it is rated to push 50% charge in just 30 minutes. On top of that, it also supports Qi wireless charging and has IP67 rated dust and water resistance.

At RM2,199, you could also get the iPhone SE 2020 with 128GB of storage. Although the SE has a smaller 4.7″ display and 1,821mAh battery, it runs on a more powerful A13 Bionic chip. Apart from having more storage at the same price, the iPhone SE still retains Touch ID which is more convenient to unlock when you’re wearing a face mask.

If you’re on a budget, which would you get? The iPhone XR 64GB or the iPhone SE 2020 128GB? Let us know in the comments below.
