A video of a woman that was alleged to be a quarantine dodger was circulated through various social media platforms yesterday. It was claimed that the woman was wearing a pink tag while shopping at Parkson, Alamanda Shopping Centre in Putrajaya. The shopping mall management has posted a statement to refute such claims and have provided an official statement.

According to Alamanda’s management, the claim that a woman was wearing a pink quarantine wristband issued by the Ministry of Health on 11th October is completely false. After they launched an investigation, they discovered that the woman wasn’t wearing a pink tag. Instead, she was actually wearing a pink watch that comes with a pink strap.

The mall urge the public not to speculate and to spread unfounded rumours. It added that everyone should act responsibly and to remain calm while obtaining valid information from official sources.

Alamanda Shopping Centre says it prioritises the safety and security of its customers and tenants, and will continue to monitor the situation in the mall in order to provide a safe environment for everyone while adhering to the Ministry of Health and National Security Council protocols.

As usual, if you’re not sure, do not share. Sharing misinformation and falsehoods can cause unnecessary panic and may land you into some serious trouble.
