COVID-19: New cases jump to 14 today, Benteng cluster in Sabah has 6 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases which brings the total number of infections to 9,374. Fortunately, there are no new deaths and the death toll remains at 128.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4 new recoveries and a total of 9,083 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is 96.90% while the mortality rate is 1.37%.

There are currently 163 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU with 3 requiring respiratory support.

Out of the 14 cases today, 10 are transmitted locally while 4 cases are imported. The imported cases include 2 Malaysians returning from Singapore and one foreigner each arriving from Singapore and the Philippines. 2 of the imported cases are from the Bunga cluster.

In terms of local cases, there are 4 cases in Kedah which consists of 3 from the Tawar cluster and 1 from the Telaga cluster. Sabah has 6 new cases which include 2 Malaysians and 4 foreigners from the Benteng cluster.
