COVID-19: New cases drop to 6 today, 4 are imported

Malaysia has recorded 6 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 9,360. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 128.

The Ministry of Health has reported 4 new recoveries and a total of 9,079 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.00% while the mortality rate is at 1.37%.

There are currently 153 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU and 3 of them require respiratory support.

Out of the 6 cases today, 4 are imported while 2 are transmitted locally. The imported cases consist of 3 individuals arriving from Indonesia and 1 from Syria.

COVID-19 malaysia breakdown

In terms of local cases, there’s one Malaysian reported from the MV Glen cluster in Selangor and another Malaysian in Pahang that was detected from a screening at the workplace. There are no new cases reported from Sivagangga and Tawar clusters today.

The MV Glen cluster which originated from a ship now has a total of 3 positive cases. A total of 58 individuals have been screened with 16 tested negative while 39 are still waiting for results.
