Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Malaysia: Everything you need to know

Samsung Malaysia has announced the arrival of its Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+. These are their latest Snapdragon 865+ powered tablets that would go head on with the iPad Pro. If you plan to get your hands on one, here’s everything you need to know.

Pricing and availability

The Galaxy Tab S7 comes in two sizes and below is the official pricing in Malaysia:

Galaxy Tab S7 6GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM3,299
Galaxy Tab S7+ 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM4,599

The Galaxy Tab S7 series will be available from 28th August onwards. According to the spec sheet, both tablets are WiFi only and that means it doesn’t support mobile connectivity such as 4G or 5G. The Tab S7 and S7+ are offered in Mystic Black and Mystic Silver, while the new Mystic Bronze option is offered only for the S7+ at selected stores.

The Galaxy Tab S7 series are available to purchase online via the official Samsung Store on Lazada and Shopee. Alternatively, you can also visit your nearest Samsung Experience Stores.

As a launch promo, you can get complimentary free gifts worth up to RM1,760. The first 1,000 buyers can get a free Samsung Keyboard cover worth RM999, an S Pen worth RM239, Microsoft Office 365 single user license (1 year) worth RM269, 128GB microSD card worth RM139 and 1 day pass to the Colony worth RM60. Also included are 6-month subscription for Clip Studio Paint and 4 months free YouTube Premium.

For the 1,001 purchasers onwards, you’ll get the same freebies except for the Microsoft Office 365 subscription. The 128GB microSD card and Microsoft Office 365 license must be redeemed through the Samsung Redemption portal before 15th November 2020.

Hardware Specs

To recap, the Galaxy Tab S7 comes with a 11″ LTPS LCD display (2560×1600 pixels) while the S7+ gets a larger 12.4″ AMOLED panel (2800×1752 pixels) with HDR. Both are capable of high 120Hz fresh rate and offer a quad-speaker setup tuned by AKG.

Apart from having the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 865+ processor, the new Tabs retain a microSD card expansion slot. The device features a dual-camera setup at the rear with a 13MP main camera and a 5MP ultra-wide-angle shooter. For video calls, both devices feature a 8MP front camera. The S7+ with an AMOLED display gets an in-display fingerprint sensor, while the S7 uses a side-mounted unit.

Powering the S7 is a 8,000mAh battery while the larger S7+ tablet gets a 10,090mAh capacity battery. Both supports 45W fast-charging via USB-C. Similar to the Galaxy Tab S6, both tablets don’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
