To celebrate the upcoming Merdeka Day celebrations, Vivo Malaysia has teamed up with Malaysian film director Ho Yuhang for a Merdeka-themed short film. What’s interesting is that the film was shot entirely on the Vivo X50 Pro that features a unique stability system.

The short feature film titled “Kita” celebrates the diversity of Malaysia and it will take you on a nostalgic journey back to the schooling days. The official sound track features Shila Amzah, the winner of Chinese reality singing talent show Asian Wave in 2012.

“Kita” premiers on the 27th of August and you can watch the full video on YouTube and Iflix.

Ho Yuhang has been in the film industry for over 16 years and had recently co-directed The Ghost Bride TV Series that was released on Netflix. With the upcoming short film, Vivo wants to take the opportunity to showcase the X50 Pro’s capability as a powerful story telling tool.

To recap, the X50 Pro is Vivo Malaysia’s latest premium 5G smartphone. It features a 6.56″ 90Hz Full HD+ AMOLED display and it runs on a Snapdragon 765G processor.

The quad-camera setup is its key highlight with a 48MP main camera that has a gimbal-like stabilisation system that claims to be superior than typical OIS setup. The device also has a 13MP portrait camera capable of 2x optical zoom, an 8MP periscope shooter with 5x optical zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter.

The X50 Pro 5G also gets a 4,315mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging via USB-C. The device with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is officially priced at RM3,199.

You can learn more about the X50 series in our announcement post.
