COVID-19: 14 new cases today, 93.8% of total cases in Malaysia have recovered

The Ministry of Health Malaysia has recorded 14 new COVID-19 cases today, which brings the total number of infections to 8,529. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 121.

There are 127 new recoveries and a total of 8,000 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 93.80% and the mortality rate is 1.42%.

COVID-19 Malaysia Status

At the moment, there are 408 active cases remaining which are isolated and still receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU and no cases require respiratory support.

Out of the 14 new cases today, 3 are imported while 11 are transmitted locally. From the local cases, 4 are Malaysians while the remaining 7 are foreigners.

Among the local Malaysian cases, there are 2 cases each from Kuala Lumpur and Sarawak. Meanwhile for the 7 local cases involving foreigners, there are 2 cases each from Sarawak and Kuala Lumpur, and a case each at Selangor, Sabah and Perak.

As of 17th June 2020, the Ministry of Health has tested 664,334 individuals for COVID-19. The positive rate for the tests is 1.28%.
