We knew a Lego Super Mario Set would be released on the 1st August, which included a Mario Starter Course and two expansion sets. However, Lego and Nintendo revealed a much bigger range in the same line.
“With today’s announcement, 16 LEGO Super Mario sets have been introduced and I am really looking forward to seeing how people’s play expands with these and theunique Power-Up Packs,” said Takashi Tezuka, Executive Officer and Game Producer of Nintendo.
The Mario Starter Course includes an interactive, Bluetooth-enabled Mario figure. The Bluetooth feature helps Mario interact with special Lego ‘action bricks’ so that you can collect ‘coins’ as you go. It’s priced at RM259.90.
The Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion Set was announced in April along with the Starter Course. It retails at RM149.90.
