After introducing its Realme Buds Air TWS headphones in January, Realme has announced the Realme Buds Air Neo and Realme Buds Q for the Malaysian market. These are two new affordable wireless headphones that are priced under RM200.
Below is the official price for Realme’s new headphones:
Realme Buds Air Neo – RM199
Realme Buds Q – RM129
The Realme Buds Air Neo will be available via a flash sale on Shopee and you can get it for only RM149 on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2020. It comes in 3 colours – Pop White, Punk Green and Rock Red.
Meanwhile, the more affordable Buds Q will be available much later in July. The Realme Buds Q is offered in either Yellow or Black.
The Buds Air Neo is essentially a “Lite” version of the Realme Buds Air and it costs RM100 less. It retains the same Apple AirPods clone design but it has a larger 13mm sound driver with dynamic bass boost. Like the Buds Air, it also uses the same R1 chip with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
On a full charge, you can get up to 3 hours of music playback and you can get up to a total of 17 hours with the provided charging case. For mobile gaming, the Buds Air Neo has a gaming mode which can reduce audio latency to 119.2ms when it’s toggled.
You can control your music with touch controls and it also comes with IPX4 rated splash resistance. You can long-press to trigger voice assistance or to end a voice call.
Unlike the more expensive model, the Buds Air Neo is charged via a microUSB port and the case doesn’t support wireless charging. Due to its lower price tag, the Neo also lacks a secondary mic for environmental noise cancelling for voice calls and there’s also no optical sensor to detect if you’re wearing them.
If you’re looking for something more affordable that has a more compact appearance, there’s the Realme Buds Q. According to Realme, it is designed by a French artist, José Lévy and the case looks like a pebble.
According to Realme Malaysia, it is rated to last up to 3 hours of use and with the charging case, you can get up to 20 hours of battery life. The Buds Q connects via Bluetooth 5.0 with support for 119ms low latency mode. You can also control your music playback by tap or touch controls.
