BINA: AirAsia and Google team up to provide online courses for SMEs

RedBeat Academy has announced its new BINA Digital development programme that is targeted at Small-Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia. The programme, run in collaboration with Google, is said to offer SMEs a chance to learn, connect and retool themselves in this new business environment.

With the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, many businesses have fast-tracked their digitisation efforts to stay relevant. BINA Digital offers online courses for SMEs to get develop both their business and digital skills as well as enhance their ability to maintain sustainable business expansion and growth.



A visit to the RedBeat Academy’s website currently shows three available courses that SMEs can enrol in: a webinar beginner courses, BINA Basic Programme and BINA Advanced Programme. The webinar series, created by Google, is a weekly ongoing series that covers many aspects of an e-commerce business.

There is also the BINA Basic Programme, a specialised introductory level program that introduces and guides SMEs on the fundamentals of how to succeed in the digital world. The course is set for two hours per week and costs just RM20 to enrol. The first 240 participating SMEs in BINA Basic Programme will have their fees waived.



Finally, the BINA Advanced Programme is a five-week course of two hours a week that costs a nominal fee of RM100 per participant. Participants will be learning advanced techniques on digital marketing and online audience engagement from instructors from RedBeat Academy, Google and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC).

Aireen Omar president of RedBeat Ventures, AirAsia Group said, “The BINA digital programme will strengthen the SMEs’ ability to manage sustainable business expansion and growth. We hope SMEs will take this opportunity to reskill or upskill themselves and continue to excel in their businesses,” she added.

RedBeat Academy, a collaboration between AirAsia Group’s corporate venture arm, RedBeat Ventures and Google hopes to build a future proof next generation by providing a one-stop service in tech, leadership and innovation that will be a key catalyst for the digital economy in Malaysia and ASEAN.

SMEs that are interested in finding out more can head to the RedBeat Academy’s website and join the programme.
