COVID-19: 37 new cases today, 10 Malaysians among local cases

Malaysia has recorded 37 new COVID-19 cases today, which brings the total number of infections to 8,304. Unfortunately, there’s one new death reported and the death toll is now 117.

The Ministry of Health has also reported 25 new recoveries today. At the moment, a total of 6,635 patients have recovered and discharged so far. Malaysia’s recovery rate is 79.90%, while the mortality rate is 1.41%.

COVID-19 Malaysia Status

There are currently 1,551 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and receiving treatment. 5 are in ICU and there are no cases that require respiratory support today.

COVID-19 Malaysia Breakdown

Out of the 37 new cases recorded, 8 cases are imported while 29 are transmitted locally. From the local cases, there are 10 Malaysians and 19 foreigners.

COVID-19 states

From the active clusters, there are 6 new cases from the Kuala Lumpur construction site 2, 4 new cases from Pedas, 3 from a cleaning company cluster in Kuala Lumpur, 1 from Pudu and 1 from Kg. Sungai Lui.

As of yesterday (5th June), there are 5 red zones remaining which are located at Hulu Langat, Sepang, Cheras, Lembah Pantai and Rembau. The states of Pulau Pinang, Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu are fully green.

The CMCO is expected to end on 9th June which is 3 days away. According to Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, the PM will be making an announcement related to the CMCO tomorrow.
