If you’re looking for a powerful iPad with lots of storage, Machines has an interesting deal for the 3rd generation iPad Pro. The 11″ iPad Pro 2018 (also known as 1st gen 11″ iPad Pro) with 512GB of storage can be yours for under RM4,000.
This is for the WiFi-only version and Machines is offering it for RM3,999. That’s RM1,000 off from its initial launch price and both Space Grey and Silver colour options are available.
The 2018 model has a single 12MP camera at the rear that can shoot 4K videos. As a comparison, the latest 11″ iPro Pro 2020 with 512GB of storage is priced at RM4,849 and it comes with more cameras including a 10MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a LiDAR scanner for AR applications.
In terms of power, the 2018 model runs on a 7nm A12X Bionic chip while the 2020 version gets an updated A12Z Bionic variant. As discovered recently, it appears that both chips are actually similar but the older A12X has one of its GPU cores disabled.
To complete your iPad experience, the Smart Keyboard Folio for the 11″ model is going for RM769. Meanwhile, the 2nd gen Apple Pencil that can be attached to the iPad Pro magnetically is priced at RM549.
The 2018 iPad Pro is the first iPad to ditch the Touch ID integrated home button and it comes with Face ID which works on either orientation. It is also the first iPad to come with a USB-C port that supports 18W fast charging and data transfers. The port supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 and you can even hook it up to an external display or a camera.
For the 11″ model, the Liquid Retina Display pushes a resolution of 2388×1668 pixels while maintaining a pixel density of 264 ppi. It also supports an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate ProMotion along with True Tone technology. As you would expect from an iPad Pro, it has a quad-speaker setup but unfortunately, it doesn’t come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
