At today’s press conference, the Ministry of Health has recorded 40 new COVID-19 cases today. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in Malaysia to 6,819. Unfortunately, there’s one new death reported and the death toll is now 112.
In addition, there are 70 new recoveries today and a total of 5,351 patients have recovered and discharged so far. Malaysia’s recovery rate is currently at 78.47% while the mortality rate is 1.64%.
As of today, there are 1,356 active cases remaining which are currently receiving treatment. 16 cases are in ICU while 4 require respiratory assistance.
Out of the 40 cases recorded today, 31 are non-Malaysians. There are no new imported cases today.
There are current 4 active COVID-19 clusters, with 18 new cases from Pudu, 10 from Pedas, 3 from Madrasah Sungai Salan and 1 from Benus.
The Ministry has also announced that EMCO has ended for Pusat Bandar Utara & the surrounding areas of KL Wholesale market. Selayang Baru and PJ Old Town market at Jalan Othman has recorded no new cases today.
As of 12pm on 13 May, there are 8 red zones which are located in states and territories of Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Sarawak. There are also 70 yellow zones and 123 green zones.
Malaysia has been recording double-digit figures for daily cases for 11 consecutive days. The number of new recoveries also exceed the number of new cases for 11 days straight since the beginning of CMCO which took effect on 4th May.
