The Realme 6 was introduced locally in March and just recently, they have announced a higher-spec model with 8GB of RAM. If you’re waiting for the top of the line model of the series, the Realme 6 Pro is finally coming to Malaysia very soon.
According to their official Facebook page, the Realme 6 Pro will be announced on 11th May 2020. The launch event will be streamed live on Facebook at 11am. So far there are no details on the pricing but it will definitely be priced above RM1,000.
At the moment, the Realme 6 with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at RM999 while the 8GB RAM variant is going for RM1,199. In India, the Realme 6 Pro starts from INR 16,999 (about RM963) for the base 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model and it goes all the way up to INR 18,999 (about RM1,076) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option.
To recap, the Realme 6 Pro features a 6.6″ Full HD+ IPS display that pushes a high 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor which is similar to the Redmi Note 9S and Note 9 Pro. The device can be configured with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage which is expandable via microSD.
The rear gets a quad-camera setup which consists of a 64MP f/1.8 main camera that uses a Samsung GW1 sensor along with an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens. In addition, the device also comes with a 12MP telephoto camera and a 2MP macro shooter. Over at the front, the display has a wide punch-hole that houses a 16MP main shooter and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.
Keeping the lights on is a 4,300mAh battery and it supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. For those who prefer to use your own headphones, it also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Xiaomi has recently announced the Redmi Note 9 Pro (not the same as the Indian market version) which is essentially an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 9S. It comes with a 64MP main camera and it also supports 30W fast charging via USB-C. The Malaysian pricing isn’t announced yet but it is said to be coming in mid-May.
