Samsung Galaxy S26: Here’s why you shouldn’t buy these two phones

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series has officially arrived, and it brings one of the most interesting mixes of genuine innovation. This includes impressive features like Privacy Display, Horizontal Lock, and agentic AI.

However, the frustrating stagnation we’ve seen in the past few generations of Samsung flagships is still here.

The main question we have in mind is: Is what Samsung is bringing to the table this year with the Galaxy S26 series enough to compete against or even threaten the iPhone, and not to be forgotten, the Chinese rivals from the likes of Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi, which have been giving serious specs and innovation for the money?

Samsung Galaxy S26 series quick specs

Like its predecessors, the Samsung Galaxy S26 series comes with three display sizes. This includes a 6.3″ FHD+ 120Hz LTPO screen on the base S26 to 6.7-inch and 6.9″ QHD+ panels on the S26+ and S26 Ultra, with the Ultra debuting a unique hardware-level Privacy Display.

Under the hood, the non-Ultra models are powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2600, while the Ultra gets the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy from Qualcomm. Camera hardware remains familiar on the base and Plus models (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto), but the Ultra boasts upgraded apertures across its quad-camera array (200MP main, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 5x telephoto, and 10MP 3x telephoto), with all three phones sharing a 12MP selfie shooter.

Powering the devices are 4,300mAh, 4,900mAh, and 5,000mAh batteries respectively, though charging speeds remain highly staggered: a 25W wired/15W wireless on the base S26, 45W/20W on the S26+, and a much-needed bump to 60W/20W on the S26 Ultra.
