Realme Watch passes Malaysia’s SIRIM certification

After introducing the Realme Buds Air in Malaysia, Realme is about to release its first smartwatch in Malaysia. A new device was spotted on Malaysia’s SIRIM database and it’s a smartwatch with Bluetooth connectivity.

According to the SIRIM listing, the device carries the model number RMA161. The same device has also passed Indonesia’s certification and it carries the marketing name “Realme Watch”.

There’s very little info on the new smartwatch at the moment, however, it was spotted by Android Authority last month. It was shown briefly in an interview with Realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth. From the video, the Realme smartwatch looks like an Apple Watch clone as it gets a square watch face with rounded corners.

Since Realme is an Oppo sub-brand, the new smartwatch could be a budget version of the Oppo Watch that’s running on an Android-based ColorOS Watch. Since Realme caters for the budget segment, we are guessing that it could be priced below RM1,000.

Last month, the company had introduced its Realme Band which is priced at INR 1,499 (around RM85). It’s cheaper than the Mi Band 4 and it comes with a hidden integrated USB charging head in the strap.
