Malaysians still get to enjoy Ramadhan dishes and snacks through Grab, as the company states that they are continuing to support local businesses and micro-entrepreneurs to thrive during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period. Grab’s Ramadhan and Raya based options include:

GrabFood Ramadan Favourites

You can find this section straightaway on the Grab app (iOS, Android) after you’ve pressed the ‘Food’ option as ‘Ramadan Favourites’. The section will show you the nearby shops with with ‘iftar’ favourites like chicken rice and roti john. Grab is also working with local state councils in Seberang Perai City and Perak to make Ramadan favourites easily available and delivered via GrabFood.

Grab Ramadan e-Kitchen

This feature depends on your location, so be sure to check because it might not work if you don’t live in the Selangor area. Grab’s Ramadan e-Kitchen is where you can get ‘Ramadhan Bazaar’ food from 10 locations across Selangor. The food is carefully prepared and packed with health and safety guidelines in place.

It’s important to note that Grab highly recommends users to order by 5pm, so that their food arrives in time for ‘berbuka’ and to also give delivery-partners time to enjoy their ‘iftar’.

GrabExpress Ramadan

To look through what GrabExpress can offer during fasting month, scroll down the front page of the Grab app until you find the section ‘Delivering from home-based sellers’. This is where you can order food further from your usual location.

All orders close 2pm daily, and deliveries will be sent latest by 5pm. Besides ‘buka puasa’ food items, you can also shop for Ramadhan and Raya items there like Raya cookies, an assortment of ‘kuihs’ and even ice cream.

Up to 30% on Raya ‘essentials’ through GrabPay

Raya this year is going to be very different from your regular Raya celebrations. However, you don’t have to forgo cute clothes or items to make your kuih raya even if you’re going to be celebrating at home. In fact, you can get up to 30% off on items for Raya celebrations.

Scroll down the front page of the Grab app until you find a section titled ‘Shop Raya fashion & more with GrabPay’. Here you can get discounts on clothes, electronics and even entertainment if you use the app. If you look beneath the ‘Shop Raya’ section, you can also get 30% off on disinfection services, and up to 20% off on groceries.

Helping others celebrate

Grab is encouraging users to donate to various NGOs and charities using their GrabRewards points through the app. Each redemption of 600 GrabRewards points will translate to a donation of RM5 to an organisation of their choice. The different organisations include Malaysian Federation of The Deaf, Pertiwi Soup Kitchen, and the OKU community.
