Sony reveals the PS5 logo and fans are pissed!

The highly-anticipated PlayStation 5 is set to be launched in time for the year-end holiday season this year, and a few details have also leaked in recent times. That includes images of a supposed developer unit, as well as the upcoming DualShock controller, with rumours that there will be rear-facing buttons on Sony’s new controller. But we do have one concrete detail: the “new” logo for the PlayStation 5 has been revealed—and fans aren’t pleased.

At Sony’s CES 2020 press conference on Monday, Sony unveiled the logo for their new console, the PlayStation 5—or the PS5. The reaction to the big unveiling was… underwhelming, to say the least. However, that’s nothing compared to some of the responses we’ve seen on social media.

Most of them poke a little fun at Sony’s design team, and the insane amount of work it must have taken to get them to settle on the new logo.

Have a look:

Some of them are a little below the belt, but still worth a couple of laughs, in my opinion.

All in all, certainly not the reaction that Sony was hoping for. To be fair, logo announcements—especially from big brands—tend to draw a fair amount of flak. Remember the FACEBOOK announcement? Sometimes, the internet just looks for things to complain about. Regardless, it still makes for some pretty funny viewing.
