Just days after the Vivo V17 was introduced in India, Vivo has just sent out invites for its upcoming Malaysian launch. The Vivo V17 will be arriving on the 17th December 2019 and it claims to be an affordable device with cutting-edge phone specifications.

According to Vivo India’s website, the V17 offers a rather large 6.44″ Super AMOLED display that pushes a Full HD+ resolution. Instead of a pop-up selfie camera setup, the device comes with a punch-hole on the top right corner that contains a 32MP selfie camera. Like most Vivo smartphones, there’s also an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor which is also powering the previous Vivo V15 Pro. In India, it is offered with 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage which doesn’t seem to be expandable via a microSD card.

For taking pictures, the rear has an L-shaped quad-camera setup that looks more conventional than the S1 Pro. It has a 48MP f/1.8 main camera that’s accompanied by an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP f/2.4 camera for macro effects and another 2MP camera for macro.

Keeping the lights on is a generous 4,500mAh battery that charges via USB-C. As usual, it comes bundled with an 18W fast charger. Out of the box, the V17 is running on FunTouch OS 9.2 that’s based on Android 9 Pie.

In India, the device is officially priced at INR22,990 (about RM1,351) and it comes in two colours – Midnight Ocean and Glacier Ice. We’ll find out more about the device’s local pricing, specs and availability next week, so stay tuned.
