Petronas’ Setel e-payment app is now available for iPhone

Setel is a mobile payment solution from Petronas that allows you to pay for petrol with your smartphone. Initially available only for Android devices, the Setel app is now available on iOS

To recap, Setel works like an e-Wallet where you can top up using your credit or debit card, or via online banking. To make a payment, just drive into a supported Petronas station and select the pump number that you’re currently parked.

The whole experience is seamless as you can pay directly on your smartphone before you exit the car to refuel. There’s no need to queue and you can also integrate your Mesra card to earn points from every transaction. For debit card users, this allows you to pay exactly what you use without worrying about locking up RM200 of credit in your savings account. To learn more, you can check out our hands-on post or watch our video below:

At the moment, Setel is available at more than 40 stations in the Klang Valley. They are targeting to reach 600 stations by June 2019 and with nationwide availability by end of 2019. According to Setel, the Mesra store function will be available starting January 2019.

To encourage more sign ups, Setel is having a 10% rebate promotion if you register an account before 2nd December 2018. You can download Setel on the AppStore and Google Play
