Digi WiFi beta

Digi customers can enjoy greater connectivity as the telco has introduced its WiFi hotspot service with unlimited quota. Digi WiFi which is currently in beta is offered exclusively for Digi customers. You can buy a pass from as low as RM0.70.

At the moment, the WiFi service is available at over 277 locations which are located in the Klang Valley and Seremban. To use the service, just look for the Digi-WiFi hotspot, connect to it and enter your mobile number. You’ll receive an SMS for confirmation.

Below is the list of WiFi passes available:
RM0.70 – 30 minutes
RM1.00 – 1 hour
RM1.20 – 2 hours
RM2.00 – 4 hours

The WiFi pass will be charged to your Digi postpaid and prepaid account, so do ensure that you have sufficient balance before subscribing. According to Digi, there’s no data quota on their WiFi network which is great if you need to update your apps or to download content for offline viewing. You can even connect up to 4 devices simultaneously which can include your laptop. tablet and other spare devices.

The WiFi connection is provided in partnership with Telekom Malaysia and Digi strives to provide a minimum of 4Mbps. Actual speeds may vary depending on how many users are connected to the same hotspot.

Interestingly, their FAQ states that all passes are valid for 24 hours after purchase. They gave an example for a 3-hour pass. If you’ve used it for one hour before disconnecting, you can still use the remaining data in your pass by logging-in again within 24 hours.

This isn’t the first time Digi has offered a WiFi hotspot service. They used to offer it for free for their Digi broadband customers at selected universities.

If you have any issues, you can contact Digi via WhatsApp at 016 210 9825. For more info, check out Digi’s WiFi page.
