Last year in December, Huawei launched the P Smart (2017) as a low-end offering for its P series, and it was a pretty decent device with some not-bad specs. At launch, the device was quite affordable too with a price tag of £143.99 (around RM774). Now, it looks like Huawei is set to launch an update of the P Smart featuring an all display front and improved specs.

We saw this smartphone make an appearance earlier on a German tech website called WinFuture, and thanks to the leaks, we are able to get a hint of what to expect from the smartphone.

At first glance, the P Smart (2019) bears a resemblance to the recently launched honor 10 Lite but with a different camera module though almost everything else looks the same. If the leaks are true, expect the P Smart (2019) to come with a water drop notch with a single front camera and a dual rear “AI camera” setup. The tiny little dot houses a 24MP camera while the dual camera setup at the rear consists of a 13MP main shooter and a 2MP sensor for depth-of-field effects.

The device is rumored to sport a rather large 6.2-inch LCD display (2340×1080 pixels) compared to the 5.65-inch screen on its predecessor. The P Smart (2019) is also said to have a larger 3,400mAh battery, while its predecessor is currently powered by a 3,000mAh cell.  Apart from that, the P Smart (2019) might get Huawei’s HiSilicon Kirin 710 processor that is coupled with at least 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage. Out of the box, the device should run on the company’s latest firmware – EMUI 9.0 instead of EMUI 8.0.

For those who didn’t know, the P Smart is basically Huawei’s version of the honor Lite series. Therefore, there’s a high possibility that the P Smart (2019) will never make it into Malaysia.

However, since Huawei has made no official announcement on the device just yet, take all this as just rumours at the moment.
