Digi’s digital telco brand, tapp, has just gotten rid of the need to use VPN to go online. This makes it so much easier to stay connected and you can access all apps without any hassles.

According to tapp, users can now enjoy Snapchat and Netflix, as well as the ability to share your data via hotspot tethering. If you’re an existing tapp user, you can switch off VPN from the app as pictured above.

To recap, tapp allows you to create your own prepaid plan and you can decide how much data, voice call minutes and validity you need. A unique feature for tapp is the ability to sell back unused quota to reduce wastage.

Since there’s no VPN, this also means that you can use tapp on your iOS device. It works on our iPhone 7 Plus and we can connect via 4G. Just take note that the tapp app is currently available only for Android and you’ll need the app to manage your account including topping up credit. The app also allows you to manage which apps are permitted to use data and this helps to avoid unwanted usage.

To learn more about tapp, you can check out our previous announcement post. Apart from tapp, there are other digital or hybrid prepaid plans in Malaysia which include ookyo, yoodo and unifi. With this new development, ookyo is the only digital prepaid brand that still requires VPN to enjoy unlimited high-speed usage for your favourite apps.
