The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro is a new contender in the sub-RM1,000 smartphone category. For those who are looking for something more premium, the ZenFone 5 is also making its way to Malaysia. Ahead of its big day, the official specs and pricing have surfaced on the official ASUS store on Lazada Malaysia.
The ASUS ZenFone 5 appears to be priced at RM1,299 in Malaysia and it looks like we’re getting the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage option. To recap, the ZenFone 5 is a premium mid-range smartphone, while the ZenFone 5z is the flagship version that’s powered by a Snapdragon 845 processor.
To refresh your memory, the ZenFone 5 gets a 6.2″ Super IPS+ display that does a Full HD+. Underneath its glass and metal body is a 14nm Snapdragon 636 processor which is similar to the ZenFone Max Pro and Redmi Note 5.
In the imaging department, it gets a 12MP f/1.8 dual-camera setup with OIS and a 120-degree wide-angle camera on its secondary shooter. In front, it comes with an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. Unlike the ZenFone Max Pro, it has dual-band 5GHz WiFi, NFC and dual-speakers.
The ZenFone 5 is packed with heaps of AI features including AI photography, AI charging, AI screen, AI ringtone, AI performance and AI call. Powering the device is a 3,300mAh battery which charges via USB-C.
The official launch is taking place this coming Thursday and from the looks of it, you can order the ZenFone 5 (Midnight Blue) from 4th June. Stay tuned to us for the latest updates.
