OnePlus 6 specs and official photos appear ahead of launch

After months of anticipation, the OnePlus 6 will be unveiled this coming Wednesday. Just days ahead of the flagship smartphone announcement, Amazon has accidentally revealed the OnePlus 6 product page which provides a clear view of the device and its hardware specification.

The product pages on Amazon are no longer available but Roland Quandt from WinFuture has managed to save a copy of the official product photos as well as its listed specification. From what he gathered so far, the OnePlus 6 will be available starting from 22 May in Germany and they have listed both Mirror Black and Midnight Black colours. As the name suggests, the Midnight Black comes with a matte finish while the OnePlus 6 in Mirror Black comes with a glossy glass back.

Two storage options are being offered with 64GB going for 519 Euros (about RM2,475) while the larger 128GB version is going for 569 Euros (about RM2,714). Of course, do note that European pricing is usually higher than Malaysia. There will be a higher spec 8GB RAM + 256GB version as teased by OnePlus earlier on but it isn’t mentioned on Amazon’s site. Perhaps this could be reserved for the white version which was revealed by Amitabh Bachchan.

The OnePlus 6 will get a 6.28″ Optical AMOLED display with a 2,280×1,080 pixels resolution in a 19:9 aspect ratio. There’s also Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the front display. There’s a notch at the top and it comes with a bottom chin which is slimmer than most notch Android smartphones. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 845 processor and according to its TENAA listing, it should be getting a 3,300mAh battery that supports Dash Charge via USB-C. A headphone jack is still retained at the bottom of the device.

The Amazon OnePlus 6 listing also indicates that it will carry a 16MP + 20MP dual-camera combo that offers optical image stabilisation, portrait mode and slow-mo features. The new device will also get water resistance but it isn’t clear if it is IP67 or IP68 rated.

More shall be revealed on 16 May and the event will be streamed live at 12:00AM on 17 May Malaysian time.
